08a_egypt_lionseal

Seal with Lion Egyptian, Faience, 27th - 30th Dynasty (525 - 332 B.C.) Because only the scribes and priest were given the gift of understanding the “sacred writings”, the seal was used as an alternate way to write one’s name. This one reads: Te-khuk the farmer.
